Why a Photography Guide?

You might wonder why you need this page when your smartphone or camera already takes great pictures without you having to study it. Well, sometimes photos turn out badly and you don’t know why. Or you see a picture in a photo book or an advertisement and say “Wow!”, but you don’t really know why you like it so much. That’s where knowing that you can do so much more with cameras than just pressing the shutter button comes into play. Some aspects of image composition are, of course, a matter of taste or depend on the effect you want to achieve with the picture. Much of this can, of course, be done later with software or handled by an app on your smartphone. Nevertheless, it is important to think about what you want to capture, how you want to capture it, and what the intended statement of the image should be while you are taking the photo. In the end, this is what makes all the difference.
